2025-2026 Schedule of Events

Monthly Bird Walks

Mark your calendars with the following dates for this season’s bird walks. Most trips end by noon and do not require much walking. Remember to bring your binoculars, scopes, insect repellent, rain gear, snacks and water.

Saturday, September 13 – Goldsboro Wastewater Treatment Plant (Shackleford cancelled)
October 4 – Martin Marietta Park, New Bern, NC
November 1st – River Park North, Greenville, NC
November 12-13 – Bonus Trip!  Overnight!  Pea Island, Nags Head, and other Outer Bank coastal locations.

December 6 – Pamlico County, Oriental, NC
January 3 – Martin Marietta Park, New Bern, NC
February 7 – Lake Mattamuskeet NWR; Pungo NWR and Lake Phelps, NC
March 7 – Fort Macon and other Atlantic Beach, NC areas
April 4 – Croatan National Forest, Haywood Creek, DragonFly Nature Trails, Maysville, NC
May 2 – VOA Game Land or Goose Creek State Park, Washington, NC (weather dependent)
May (TBA) – Camp Brinson, Havelock, NC
June 6 – North River Preserve, Otway, NC

Carpools can be arranged when we meet up. The planned destination may be changed at the last minute if a special sighting or different trip gives us a better opportunity for birding. Information will be updated with each newsletter.

Monthly Meetings

Monthly meetings are generally scheduled for the first Tuesday of each month, September through May. Holidays or other events may impact the schedule.  Program information will be updated once it becomes available.
